Born and brought up in Delhi in a large family, where conversations about the next meal were a common occurrence between my Mom and Dadi. Over time, I developed a fondness for food through their influence. Within our family, I learned the art of cooking delicious meals from culinary experts.
In 1999, I got married and moved to USA away from my mother’s delicious cooking. The flavors and aromas of her food were so vivid in my memory that through her guidance and precise techniques I was able to adjust the flavors in my dishes to be just like hers. Before I knew it, I was spending more and more time in the kitchen, experimenting with different ingredients, cuisines, presentations, and sharing my simplified recipes with family and friends. One of these experiments was baking! Back in India my mom would always get a cake for every birthday, so I took a step further and made sure that I made a cake for every birthday! It started off with simple cakes for my family, and slowly grew into specialty cakes (gluten free, vegan) for family and close friends. Overtime the cakes turned into dessert cups and traditional Indian mithai. After much thought and excitement, I finally opened my own home bakery, carrying tradition, passion, and love with each and every one of my creations!
